The Butler Mobility Courtroom/Rostrum Wheelchair Lift (CRL) is a vertical platform lift specifically designed to be unobtrusively installed within millwork. It provides mobility-impaired people discrete access to a courtroom, auditorium or church and it fits nicely into the décor.
It retains our well-proven, ultra-reliable twin-rail, chain and sprocket design. The quiet, powerful motor unit includes a standard battery backup. It has UL listed electrical components. and it has all the required safety devices, including emergency stops, upper limits, lower limits, pan safety, ratchet clutch, over speed governor and door interlocks. It is simple to operate and requires very little maintenance.
A Butler CRL is often the most cost-effective way to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Judicial facility designers will also find it invaluable for complying with the
unique courtroom accessibility requirements found at IBC1108.4. Our wheelchair lift products meet or exceed all National Safety Code (ANSI/ASME code) requirements and have UL® and CSA certified components.
The Butler staff and code consultants will assist in designing space efficient and ascetically pleasing applications that comply with the various levels of federal and state regulations. Standard lifting capacity is 750 lbs (350 kg).
In the event of a power failure, the standard battery backup will bring the platform up and down as many as 12-15 times, depending on the age of the battery, the height and the load, so the user is never left stranded
